We are announcing a new wellness venture for Fishin’ for the Cure Survivors!

Fishin’ for the Cure has partnered with the Delta Health Foundation to start a new wellness/wholeness experience.

This is a brief description of how it works.

6 people (TBD) will meet by video conference with Delta’s founder, Jill Hendra D.O. for about an hour. (Dr. Hendra is a board-certified osteopathic psychiatrist with Atrium Health Care.) You can see her bio on Delta’s website

The experience is paced education modules with individual & group process, and it is mostly unstructured because life is that way.

The experience is de-constructed to allow focus on 9 important aspects of healthy behavior Sleep…Eat…Think…Move…Breathe…Body Care…Environment…Social…Priorities

We suggest that you journal for 10 minutes each morning, before or after you ‘sit’ for 10 minutes.

On the Wholeness Tab of the Delta website there is an audio introduction to the ‘wheel’.  You can check this out to see the components of the wheel.

During your 3 weeks of study with each module, Dr. Hendra will be available for direction/explanation by phone.

After completion of the modules, there will be a drawing or selection process for 2 people to practice a “Well Week” sailing with a partner/spouse/support person in the Abacos, Bahamas. All expenses will be paid for the winners. The partner will be responsible for their airfare. All other expenses will be covered.

The sailboat will be a very comfortable, stable 45ft catamaran. You will share a cabin with your support person/partner.

Our first group will set sail December 2020!
